How can I eFile confidential or under seal documents?

Documents that are confidential or to be filed under seal must be in accordance with rule 2.551 of the California Rules of Court. Documents filed under seal by statute or pursuant to court order must clearly note “Filed under seal pursuant to court order dated (MM/DD/YY)” or “Sealed pursuant to (Code Section or Rule)” on the first page. Documents lodged conditionally under seal or are subject to a pending motion/application to seal must clearly note “Conditionally Under Seal” " on the first page.

Supportive documents containing sealed or conditionally sealed information (such as Separate Statements, Declarations, Affidavits, Exhibit Lists, Supplementals, or Notices of Lodging) may be submitted under the document type “Sealed Document” to ensure manual clerk’s review for sealing.

How do I eFile a Stipulation and Order in Orange County?

To file a Stipulation and Order in Orange County, you only need to upload the Word versions of both the Stipulation document and the Proposed Order document. 

The One Legal system will convert each document to PDF and then send both versions to the court. 

Please keep a hard copy of the PDF file with signatures in case the court requests it.

How do I indicate fee exemptions in Orange County?

If the party you represent is exempt from filing fees, you must make a note of this fact in the Message to the Clerk field in the order workflow before submitting your filing.

How do I request a refund for court fees from Orange County?

Orange County requires a refund request letter in addition to the standard refund request form used by One Legal.

How do I lodge documents with the court?

To lodge a document with the court, first eFile a "Notice of Lodgment." Next, physically file the documents and, in the special instructions, include the court transaction number of the eFiled Notice of Lodgment and state that the documents are to be lodged (not filed).
