How well do we know the Declaration of Independence? Our country celebrates its freedom on July 4, the day that the wording of the Declaration was confirmed by the Second Continental Congress. This proves the importance of a well-composed legal document.
But July 4 was not the day that our founding fathers actually signed the Declaration, as many believe. In fact, the Declaration of Independence was signed on August 2, 1776, nearly a month after our modern holiday.
